Mobile Generator Repair in Alamogordo, NM
Generator giving you trouble? Tell us what's going on. We're here to help.
A portable generator usually sits quietly in the garage until the day you really need it — a storm knocks out power, you're headed to a job site, or you're getting ready for a weekend out. That's exactly when a lot of them refuse to start.
Heern's is a veteran-owned mobile repair service based in Alamogordo. Instead of starting by hauling a heavy generator across town, you can describe the problem first, and we'll talk about whether mobile service makes sense for your equipment.
Common generator problems we hear about
Generator won't start
Pulls over but never fires, or the electric start just clicks. Old fuel, a gummed-up carburetor, a fouled spark plug, or a low-oil shutoff are frequent culprits.
Runs rough or surges
The engine hunts up and down or sounds uneven, especially under load. This often points to fuel delivery or governor issues.
Stalls after a few minutes
Starts fine, then dies. Fuel flow, venting, or an overheating condition can all cause this.
Running, but no electricity
The engine sounds healthy but nothing powers on at the outlets. This can be a breaker, wiring, or generator-end issue.
Fuel system issues
Leaks, smells, varnished fuel, or a generator that sat for a season with gas in the tank.
Routine maintenance
Oil changes, plugs, filters, and a general check-up before storm season or a trip.
What to expect
Every generator is different. Whether a repair is practical depends on the make and model, its overall condition, and whether parts are available. We'll be straightforward with you about what we find.
Photos help a lot. A shot of the model/serial tag and a short description of what happens when you try to run it lets us give you a better answer up front.
Repair availability depends on generator model, condition, and parts availability.
